Review of the Titanic Tea Party Dress in Ivory by Nataya

This dress fit just liked I hoped it would. True to my size. I hope to wear this dress to a 1919 special event.

Titanic tea party dress

I was married in this dress and it was beautiful. The color was called Pearl. I believe it was a little darker. My dress was ordered in one size larger and the fit was perfect.

Top part of the dress is lovely

I read lots of reviews before I ordered, I ordered a size bigger and it is too big, especially the under slip.
It came in 4 days to the UK, which was good.
I am very disappointed in the under slip it is huge, not a very nice material, and the frills don't look as good as they do in the picture.
I have bought a different slip from a vintage fair and it looks great now.

I bought for "Mother Of Bride" Dress. It is beautiful and just what I wanted. I bought one size larger and it fit perfect. Somewhat pricey but it is beautiful.

Dress fit ok, looks lovely, very pleased

Elegant

Colour is closer to white . I will need to have this altered to fit me . I ordered 2 sizes larger. Is more attractive and elegant than I anticipated . Plan to wear it for my daughter's afternoon tea in honour of her wedding shower. If longer and in a color other than "ivory" would have considered it suitable as a mother of bride outfit .

I want this for an Art Deco event and I am pleased with the product and the colour which matches the on line photos. I am a UK 8 and after reading previous reviews I got a S, which is slightly generous in size so a XS may have fitted better, but having paid the high cost of shipping to the UK and then £30 Vat on delivery in London I will not exchange. I have a sewing machine so I will take an inch in, on the undergarment at the bust which should be easy. Other reviews noted the unnecessary front slit which I will also sew that up and I may replace the limp frill with lace I think as others have done as well. For my height of 5 ft 3in it is a bit long for the 1920's look so I will also shorten the undergarment at the waist with a tuck. Then it will be perfect !
Last year I purchased a Titanic Tea Party in black and beige the company and I did not have to make any alterations.

Lovely

I will be wearing this dress for my September wedding. Age 58, about 180 pounds, larger bust, no butt. I usually wear a 14 -16, So I ordered a 1X thinking I would have it altered. No need this dress fits perfectly! I do wish it was more ivory, it's white, but lovely. It is very sheer so I'll be shopping for under garments soon.

Beautiful and just what I want for my upcoming wedding on a 20s yacht.
Way more pros than cons. Definitely order a size up, runs small. I would have preferred a true ivory, this is very light, more off white. The service is first rate and fast shipping!

Beautiful!

I bought this dress to celebrate my anniversary on Mackinac Island, MI and it is absolutely perfect. I recommend measuring yourself first and then going a size up which I what I did because I was concerned about the dress being too tight on my hips (I always have this problem). According to the size chart I would've been able to fit into a 2X but I went with the 3X. I figured that it would have been really big on top but in reality the 2X would've been tight in the bust area. I don't know how I feel about the slit in the front of the dress, but it is easily fixed with a pass through my sewing machine. I know there was some concern with the tule on the skirt in some of the other reviews and I have to honestly say I don't think it doesn't looks bad at all, but it wouldn't be hard to change it up with some lace. I am so glad I got this dress!! :-)

Disappointed in bottom tulle

The top of this dress is lovely ~ but the "tulle" on the bottom was a total disappointment and poorly presented. Seams were good, the color was just what I wanted and is a true Ivory. I solved the problem of the tulle on the ruffles on the bottom by ordering beautiful 7-1/4 inch lace for the three layers. I cut off the tulle, gathered and added the three layers of beautiful ivory floral lace that was finished off on the bottom and scalloped. The lace matched perfectly. Now, I am very happy with the two-piece dress. This added another $70 dollars (9 yards of lace) to the cost of the dress but I feel it was totally worth it. On a good note, I was very happy with the top and having the inside slip to work with as a foundation for my remodel.

Disappointed

I read most of the comments in the reviews and I must say the sizing of the garment ~ going to a larger size ~ really helped. The top part of the dress is quite nice ~ however, I am really disappointed in the "tulle" that was used on the bottom layers of the dress. It is not finished and hangs limply. I also do not like the slit in the front. But, I have ordered Ivory netting lace and will add this over the "tulle" on the bottom layers and will most likely close the front slit. The color runs true to ivory. The slip dress tends to run larger than the top overlay. Shipping was fast.

This dress is So Beautiful! It is very light, sheer, delicate & elegant! I am getting married in September and I chose this to be my wedding dress and I'm so happy that I did! I read several of the reviews before placing my order and took notice of their comments which were very helpful. I ordered 1 size larger than normal because a few had stated the sizes run small. I'm 5'4" and weigh approx. 150 lbs. & I'm a bit "busty". I ordered an XL and it fits me perfect! You will want to wear a full length ivory slip under this dress, as like I said, it is very sheer. I hope this is helpful!
PS... I ordered it on a Tuesday night, and the dress arrived on Friday! Very prompt!

Lovely design

Beautifully made and flattering for the fuller figure. Watch the sizing as it was too tight in my normal size for NZ.

Delicate Dress

Dress is lovely but very very sheer. It is an off white with gray hues. The color does not look good on a person with gray hair, such as myself. I will not be able to wear my dress. Ordered two sizes up, but it is too small in the bust and across my bottom. Sadly, this dress will be given away.

Perfect Plus-Size Wedding Dress!

I wanted a special dress for my wedding but did not want to spend a fortune -- it arrived in the mail quickly and fit perfectly (whew!) I'd recommend a size up from your regular size (I ordered a 3X instead of 2X); wore this on the hottest day in August and it was comfortable and flattering! The sleeve design is perfect -- dispels any flappy-upper-arm worries beautifully without being too hot, and the sleeve is roomy. You should know that although the majority of the dress is ivory, on my dress the 3/4-inch-wide band of lace a couple of inches from the bottom of the sleeves is white; this same white lace is found about an inch up from the bottom of the 'overdress' hem, and 3 bands in a row of this same lace form the empire waist; despite being white it blends well with the ivory and does not jump out - not worth getting all persnickety about at this price in my opinion. I'm 5'5" and this fell low mid-calf. This is a great wedding dress!

Gatsby Dress

Purchased this dress one size up and it is too small. I normally wear a size 16 and ordered a size 1X. Too late to return. Even with slip that comes with the pretty dress, you need add'l slip. Sad.Would give four stars, if size chart was accurate.

Love the design of this dress. The dress is not Ivory as stated. Has a silver/gray hue. Also, size chart is not accurate. I ordered an XL as I normally wear a 14-16 dress. Should have ordered a 1X. Sadly, I won't be able to wear this dress. Far too snug.

I loved the look of this and preferred the self colour to others that are two toned. Very disappointed when it arrived as the dress I received is ivory with silver tones. I had not been informed of this and, as I am in England, it would be too costly to return it.

Titanic Tea dress for wedding

Absolutely beautiful - perfect. Shame though that a heavy tag was pinned to the sewn tag. The two layers slide freely over each other and when I lifted the garment from the package, the two pieces slid apart and the heavy tag caught, tearing the fabric of the dress where the tag is sewn. I suggest not pinning the tag, but placing in the package with the dress. I plan to buy more in future. No pins, please.

Love it!

I am wearing this dress as my mother of the bride dress. Her theme is vintage and rustic so fits right in. The dress is very light, flowy and comfortable which will be nice on a hot August day. The bottom one piece can be worn with other tops/jackets over it. I will say that initially I was a bit disappointed with the silverish tinge to the thread on the top piece, because I was going to wear gold jewelry, but will just wear some pearls instead. The bottom piece is completely ivory.

Perfect!

I wore this dress for my wedding in 2013. I am not tall and slender (like all the models!) but the dress was fabulous on me. It fell just at the floor (I am 5'3" and wore flats) and was exactly the style I was looking for. I was very happy!
