Great Dress for a Gatsby/Titanic Party

This dress is perfect for a Gatsby/Titanic party. I haven't worn it to the party yet, but have already received several compliments. There are look-alikes for sale on the big-name internet sites, but you get what you pay for. I'm 5'4" and usually wear a Large. I purchased the XL and it fits perfectly. The length in the photo is the exact length it will be with my shoes. There was at least one review that mentioned the wrinkles when it arrived (or perhaps it was another dress I was looking at). This dress arrived ready to wear. There isn't a wrinkle that needs to be pressed. There are some slight fold lines in the slip, but if you don't like to iron, you won't need to. As mentioned in other reviews, the dress is two pieces. The top piece is sheer; I would stay away from sharp objects and put your jewelry on after the dress is on. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase and Wardrobe Shop. I did opt for expedited shipping at the additional cost, and it arrived within three days.

I received the dress, hat and gloves only 4 days after delivery. The dress was a perfect fit. I am only 5'1" and weigh 140 so I was nervous about the fit, but I could not be happier. I got a medium and it is a bit tight in the bust but otherwise, everything is good. I debated between small and medium. When I contacted online support, they told me that they are the same length, so I went with medium. I am in a 1917 play so this is the perfect style for my part. Thank you!!!!!

Better than ever!

I've purchased several dresses from you over the years, to use as costumes for my portrayal of a 1915 character. This one's better than ever... the embroidery is more stunning and the length generous. Once a buyer understands that these are layered dresses... an underslip with hem detail and an overdress of soft netting with embroidery, they'll be well-pleased. My dresses get hard use and frequent washing, and still last for years.

Lovely dress

I bought this for my only son's wedding. I got lots of nice compliments. Some time after I was invited to be M.C. at a wedding expo and was constantly complimented on my dress. I'm so glad I chose it, it was comfortable and flattering. Thank you

Disappointed

This is such a beautiful dress. When I received it, I thought the material was very cheap for the cost of the dress. I also ordered a larger size since I have large bust but the style was still too small for me. I am sad because overall it's a great dress, but for me not a fit and not worth the price. I will be returning.

Titanic Tea Dress

I decided I didn’t want to wear a traditional flapper dress to a Gatsby / ‘20’s party and this is the perfect dress! I have never ordered online before and this was a great experience. High quality and fast delivery - very impressed. For shorter ladies, it is quite long!

Spectacular Dress

Most beautuful dress I have ever owned. I'm 59 years old, 5'8", and usually wear a 14. I ordered 1x thinking I could have it tailored to fit, but there is no need. It fits perfectly like it was made for me. The tie in back makes it just right. The length is perfect. The fabric is sheer but needs to be to hang properly. Color is lovely. Cut is slimming. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Needs improvement

I ordered the 1X using the size guidelines and it is larger and longer than expected, but I am making it work. It took literally hours to get the wrinkles out of the under-dress, using both a steamer and an iron with a pressing cloth. I appreciate the effort to provide designs for those of us who love a vintage look, but it definitely needs improvement. The fabric of the separate under-dress needs to be of better quality. I would also have preferred some lining in the sleeves so they are not quite as transparent and have some structure. I have stitched the under-dress to the seam of the sleeves to make it stay in place, as it moves around and looks crooked otherwise. I wish I loved the quality of this dress, because I love the concept. Therefore, I am giving it two stars for the concept.

Head-Turning 1910 Era Dress

Love, love, love this dress! I ordered this dress to wear to a wedding this summer, so I haven't actually worn it yet, but when I tried it on, I felt like I had stepped back 100 years in time. I love vintage, and this dress is genuine 1910s style (I Googled dresses of that era). There are actually 2 pieces, a slip dress underneath and a sheer, lacey, net dress that goes on top. I love that there are 2 pieces because it makes the dress a lot easier to put on and take off. I used the size chart and ordered a medium; it's just a little snug through the bust but will still work, and other than that, it is is true to size. This dress is a real head-turner and I can't wait to wear it.

Delicate and lovely

Understated elegance is what I wanted and what I received. The dress is perfect for 1st person portrayal of 1936 Helen (Nellie) Taft. The dress is made of two separate parts. The under color, muted , and a hard to describe color in the pallet of purple add to the mystery and subtle elegance. It dramatically picks up an amethyst necklace, calling attention to the total ensemble and wearer.

Love it, looks beautiful on, fits how I wanted it to fit, i was in between sizes so order the one bigger. Length is to my ankles, Im 5'4". Really pleased with it.

Titanic Tea Party Dress

This is a lovely ensemble, and the style is flattering to plus-sized women. However, I felt the sizes were not accurate. I bought one size larger than I normally buy because I went by the size chart. Yet the shift underneath was way too big. I had to pin it. The outer layer catches on everything and snags very easily.

Stunning

Wow! This dress is a stunner, absolutely beautiful. Do note, however, that it runs long. I am 5' tall and it drags on the floor in flats; however it does work fine with 4" heels. Also note that it would be difficult to alter. It's actually two dresses in one, the black net part overlaid on top of the mocha linen part. They are cut in such a way that the black overlay reveals perfectly the decorative hem of the mocha sheath, and although the latter could be taken apart and shortened, doing so would mess up the way they fit together. I'm a bit busty and was worried that the empire waist wouldn't work with my figure, but due to the tie in the back, it's fine.

So in general: short people (5'3" and under), plan on wearing with heels. Busty people, don't worry, it drapes nicely.

I purchased this dress and was very disappointed with it. It is very overpriced. i read the reviews and thought they were good but when i received the dress it is made from cheap material. No l would not recommend buying this dress

Dress review

This dress is lovely. Like some said, a little thin. Also, had I known it was made in India I would have ordered one size up. It fits, but is more snug than I care for in a dress. India clothing runs small.

This dress is just OK

This dress is ok and I will keep it but I was expecting a little higher quality for the price. The fit is as expected so I think it's true to size.

LOVE!

Received this beautiful dress a few days ago and I feel like I've stepped back in time. I ordered a 3X because I have "generous" hips but could have done with the 2X, I believe. The sash makes it easy to adjust, however, so it will do quite nicely for the several parties over the next 4 months that I'll wear it to. The fabric is good quality and the workmanship is excellent. I absolutely love the embroidery! Another wonderful point is that, even though my ordered size was on backorder, the dress still showed up 10 full days before the promised delivery date. Great job, Wardrobe Shop!! I have quite a few cosplayers in my circle of friends and recommended you highly to all of them.

Beautiful dress

Very impressed with delivery, ordered on Sunday and received on Wednesday!!!
Ordered small size as usually UK size 8/10 and it fitted perfectly. Bit see-through so will need a slip underneath but very pretty and so different from anything else I've seen ......really looking forward to wearing it!

Absolutely perfect

I bought this dress for an afternoon wedding, and I can hardly wait to wear it. The fit is wonderful -- I am an XL -- and I don't need a special bra or control wear. I'm wearing it with black ankle-strap wedges, and my delicat diamond necklace. The ordering was easy, and the delivery was quick. Good move all around.

I ordered it for a festive party but I am also wearing it in the office. Elegant even if you are not ideally sized. I am a 20 and it fits just perfekt. Delivery to Germany within a week ! I get compliments on this one all the way.

A flattering dress for this mature wedding guest.

There aren't enough stars. Great communication, almost effortless return and exchange of a previous dress. This one fits like it was tailor made (for the Aussies I am a size 16 and bought an XL; I am 5'9" and the length is perfect). Arrived relatively uncreased, so it will travel well. I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

Dress arrived quickly, gorgeous but didn't fit. E-mailed company about sending back and exchanging for a bigger size but got no reply! Luckily my daughter loved the dress and bought it off me. Very poor customer service. Lovely clothes but would probably not use again.

i have this dress, i paired it with a pair of shoes from miz mooz. perfect. i would suggest purchasing a full nude slip for under it. no bra as it will lift the breast higher and throw off the detailing. so many compliments on it!

This dress will be perfect for my daughter;s wedding. It is lovely, graceful and unusual. I am tall, 5'9", and the shoulders and length are perfect. There is a lightweight, sleeveless underdress of taupe fabric and then a separate lace overdress with a sash in back that can be tied to adjust the fit.
